Developed by Contemporary Nebula Technology Energy Co., Ltd. (CNTE), the site integrates a 37.95 MW/41.7 MWh storage capacity with the existing photovoltaic plant. The installation relies on STAR T-285 liquid-cooled containers, each providing 3.45 MW of capacity. By connecting directly to a high-voltage substation, the park offers fast-response frequency regulation, allowing grid operators to balance supply and demand in real time as more solar energy enters the Czech network.

Czech Republic Launches Landmark Battery Storage Park in Modlany
A former mining spoil site in northern Czech Republic has been transformed into the nation’s largest battery energy storage facility, anchoring a 42.7 MW solar project. The Modlany Energy Park utilizes 11 containerized liquid-cooled systems to stabilize the regional grid and manage fluctuations in renewable power generation.

Beyond its technical capacity, the project serves as a model for land reclamation. Repurposing industrial mining land for energy infrastructure addresses the dual need for renewable expansion and grid modernization. The system features multi-level fire protection and cloud-based monitoring to ensure safety and asset longevity under demanding operational conditions. As Europe accelerates its transition to green energy, these utility-scale storage solutions are becoming essential tools for maintaining stability and reducing renewable energy curtailment.
