MapFour Launches Roam E-Bike Series to Disrupt Trekking Market

Berlin-based MapFour is pushing into the premium trekking segment with its new Roam series, a full-suspension e-bike line priced at €2,599. By pairing high-end specifications like a 100Nm mid-drive motor with smart IoT security, the company aims to bridge the gap between expensive touring models and entry-level accessibility.

The Roam series, available in both step-over and step-through frames, centers on a 720Wh LG battery capable of covering 150km on a single charge. Engineers prioritized rider comfort by integrating a 100mm front and 60mm rear suspension system, designed to handle everything from urban commutes to forest trails. To reduce maintenance, the bike utilizes a belt drive paired with a Shimano Nexus 5 hub, moving away from traditional chains.

Following its debut at Eurobike 2026 and a positive reception at Prodays Paris, the brand is scaling its retail presence across Europe. MapFour is leveraging a recent expansion into Amsterdam to anchor its push into Germany, France, the Netherlands, Belgium, and Luxembourg. The company plans to support this growth throughout autumn 2026 by hosting community events and securing partnerships with outdoor camping brands to place their hardware directly in front of touring enthusiasts.
