Netlist and Samsung End Legal Dispute with Broad Strategic Alliance

After years of high-stakes litigation, Netlist and Samsung have traded courtroom battles for a five-year strategic alliance. The deal, announced Monday, marks a total pivot in the relationship between the two memory manufacturers, resulting in a mutual release of all pending legal claims and a new path for collaboration.

Under the terms of the agreement, Samsung gains access to Netlist’s entire patent portfolio, specifically targeting server DIMM and High Bandwidth Memory technologies. In exchange, Netlist secures a supply chain for DRAM and NAND products, integrating Samsung’s manufacturing capacity into its own operations. To further cement the partnership, Samsung has agreed to purchase ten million shares of Netlist common stock.

Netlist CEO C.K. Hong described the move as a validation of the company's intellectual property and a shared commitment to AI-memory development. Beyond the legal settlement, the companies intend to pursue joint technology cooperation, signaling a shift toward product integration rather than patent enforcement. Netlist management scheduled an investor call for 8:30 a.m. Eastern Time to detail the impact of this transition.
