After leading Newmark Group through nearly 50 years of expansion, Barry Gosin will step down as Chief Executive Officer on December 31, 2026. Gosin’s tenure, which began in 1979, saw the commercial real estate firm evolve into a global powerhouse. Under his direction, the company achieved a public listing in 2017 and expanded its footprint to roughly 10,000 professionals across 195 locations. The firm reported a significant financial trajectory, claiming an annual revenue increase of over 1,400% since 2011, outperforming several major industry competitors.

Stephen Merkel, Chairman of the Board, noted that the search for a successor is already underway, with the board expecting to appoint a new CEO by the end of the year. Gosin, who signed an agreement to remain as Chairman of the operating entity through 2029, characterized the decision as a strategic move to focus on high-impact initiatives. This leadership change comes as Newmark reports over $3.6 billion in revenue for the twelve months ending June 30, 2026, marking a pivotal shift for one of the sector's longest-serving executives.
