The Tokyo-based logistics firm saw its total revenue edge higher to ¥60.34 billion, up from ¥59.71 billion during the same period last year. Despite the top-line growth, the company’s core profitability metrics faced downward pressure. Operating profit retreated to ¥3.15 billion, falling from ¥3.78 billion a year earlier, while pretax profit dipped to ¥3.92 billion according to the company's latest financial filing.
Divergence in Earnings Growth
The disparity between the decline in operating income and the sharp rise in net profit suggests significant non-operating gains or tax adjustments during the period. Earnings per share jumped to ¥106.16, a substantial increase from the ¥70.57 reported in the previous fiscal year. This bottom-line resilience comes even as cost pressures impacted the primary logistics and warehousing operations.
