Vaughn College Joins North American Conference for Intercollegiate Athletics
Vaughn College officially enters the North American Conference for Intercollegiate Athletics as a full member for the 2026-27 academic year. The unanimous decision by the NACIA Presidents Council integrates the New York City-based institution into a competitive network of small colleges across three states under the USCAA umbrella.
Jihad Cesar, director of athletics and recreation at Vaughn, emphasized the importance of regional competition against peer institutions of similar size. The partnership aims to foster a more robust environment for the college’s growing sports programs. Founded in 1932, the private nonprofit institution currently serves over 1,500 students, maintaining a 16-to-1 student-faculty ratio. Recognized as a Hispanic-Serving Institution, it has previously earned national distinction for student upward mobility.
