Following a shift in the business landscape, the service will officially cease operations at 11:59 p.m. on December 15, 2026. Users are being directed to MangaPlaza, a separate digital comic service operated by NTT Solmare, which will host migrated libraries for existing subscribers.

NTT DOCOMO Shuts Down MANGA MIRAI Service in US Market
NTT DOCOMO is shuttering its U.S.-based digital manga distribution platform, MANGA MIRAI, less than two years after its debut. The company announced the immediate halt of new registrations and purchases as of August 19, 2026, with the full service set to terminate by the end of December.
Transitioning to the new platform requires specific action from the user base. Customers must register a MangaPlaza account using the same email address associated with their MANGA MIRAI profile by September 30, 2026. This migration is not automatic or universal; titles acquired for free and certain paid content will remain ineligible for transfer. Furthermore, the platform restricts account creation to users 18 years of age or older as of the September deadline. Those unable to migrate their content or who choose to opt out of the transfer process will receive separate notifications regarding potential refunds via their registered email addresses.
