DREAMOSIS Turns Personal Snapshots Into Collectible Digital Worlds

London-based studio Novifolium Ltd has launched DREAMOSIS, a mobile game that discards pre-rendered environments in favor of user-generated content. By combining selfies, photographs of everyday objects, and location-based digital discoveries, players transform their own reality into unique, collectible assets known as Relics.

DREAMOSIS Turns Personal Snapshots Into Collectible Digital Worlds

Instead of navigating a developer-built universe, players treat their surroundings as the game's primary building blocks. The creation process requires three inputs: a selfie, a photo of a physical possession—such as a coffee cup or a souvenir—and a "Dreamdrop." These Dreamdrops act as digital echoes of real-world landmarks, ranging from the British Museum to the Barbican Conservatory, and serve as the catalyst for the transformation.

Because these ingredients are specific to the individual, no two player collections are identical. This approach shifts the gaming paradigm from passive consumption to personal synthesis, where a mundane item on a desk acquires a new, permanent identity within the game's parallel universe. Novifolium is also bridging the gap between digital and physical play through their DREAMO character line, which was previously funded via Kickstarter. By allowing the game's universe to manifest as tangible collectibles, the company aims to create a fluid ecosystem that moves between mobile screens and physical shelves.
