Vivo Debuts OriginOS 7 With Focus on Longevity and AI Integration

The operating system relies on the new Origin Smooth Engine, an architectural overhaul that manages memory and system scheduling to keep hardware performing like new. By rebuilding the kernel file system and optimizing memory reclamation, the company claims a 60% improvement in memory efficiency and a 10% reduction in app startup times. These performance gains are bolstered by Dual Rendering, which boosts visual efficiency by 14.4% to ensure animations remain fluid over time.

Beyond raw performance, OriginOS 7 introduces Origin Workbench, allowing users to manage up to five active applications in a unified space. The update also prioritizes cross-device connectivity, integrating natively with third-party hardware like Apple Watch and AirPods, while enabling file synchronization with Mac and Windows environments via the Vivo Office Kit. The new Jovi AI agent further automates tasks, from summarizing complex documents to organizing files across different platforms.

Visual customization also sees an update with themes that respond to gyroscope input and touch, such as the Glint and Wiggle effects. The company plans to initiate a preview program on September 21 for the X300 Pro and select iQOO devices in India, Thailand, and Malaysia, with a broader rollout scheduled for the X500, X Fold, and V series.
