American Packaging Corporation Previews 2027 Innovations at PACK EXPO

The sessions aim to provide brand owners with actionable strategies for navigating Extended Producer Responsibility legislation and volatile international trade. Incoming Purchasing Director Kevin Bergeson and outgoing director Jeff Huber will lead a discussion on how U.S. import tariffs and shipping disruptions will influence the industry through 2027. Supplementing these insights, APC will debut three proprietary technologies aimed at reducing plastic waste and improving consumer utility.

Central to the exhibition is ValvPak, a resealable valve system for liquid pouches that minimizes material weight by eliminating traditional rigid fitments. Joining this are Matte Luxe and LinearEdge, both all-polyethylene structures engineered to align with recycle-ready standards. By utilizing machine direction orientation, these products offer a alternative to laser scoring, allowing for controlled openings without the need for additional post-production perforation processes. Jeff Travis, Senior Manager of Innovation & Sustainability, noted that these developments are designed to address the dual demands of high-performance packaging and long-term environmental compliance.
