Broadridge and KSD Partner to Overhaul Korean Proxy Voting

The collaboration leverages Broadridge’s technical experience in international markets to help the Korea Securities Depository (KSD) boost the efficiency and transparency of the domestic capital market. By automating voting procedures, the institutions aim to make the Korean ecosystem more accessible to foreign institutional and retail investors, potentially expanding the scope of the project to additional proxy-related services as the market evolves.

Yunsu Rhee, Chairman and CEO of KSD, stated that the initiative is designed to increase the appeal of Korean securities to a global audience and strengthen overall investor confidence. Tim Gokey, CEO of Broadridge, emphasized that combining KSD’s local market leadership with Broadridge’s global proxy expertise will facilitate more transparent shareholder participation. This move arrives as Korea continues to pursue a broader agenda of corporate governance reform and increased integration with international capital markets.
