Construction Worker Secures $8.38 Million Settlement After Site Injury
A 43-year-old construction worker has reached an $8.38 million settlement after a falling block of concrete left him with severe spinal and knee injuries. The agreement was finalized in New York County Supreme Court just as the trial process began, following jury selection and the plaintiff’s own testimony on the stand.
Attorney Brett Zekowski of Parker Waichman LLP represented the plaintiff, arguing that the defendants failed to implement necessary safety protocols to protect employees from falling hazards. While the case proceeded through opening statements, the parties opted for a resolution before a verdict was rendered.
