USC Appoints David Madigan as Provost and Confirms Megan Jordan

Madigan joins USC on October 13 from Northeastern University, where he served five years as provost and senior vice president for academic affairs. An expert in Bayesian statistics, he previously held leadership roles at Columbia University and Rutgers University. At USC, he will hold the Shelly and Ofer Nemirovsky Provost's Chair and maintain faculty appointments across the Marshall School of Business, the Keck School of Medicine, and the Dornsife College of Letters, Arts and Sciences. He succeeds Andrew Guzman, who is returning to the faculty at the USC Gould School of Law.

Megan Jordan, a USC alumna who has managed the university’s communications in an interim capacity since January, assumes her permanent role after leading a push to unify messaging across the institution’s 23 schools and its health system. Her background includes corporate and academic communications positions at organizations such as Kaiser Permanente and Claremont McKenna College. President Beong-Soo Kim stated that both appointments are intended to accelerate the university’s research and innovation goals, positioning USC to address challenges in a rapidly changing global landscape.
