Betsson Group Centralizes Social Impact with New Malta Foundation

Betsson Group has officially launched the Betsson Foundation, a registered public benefit entity designed to consolidate the gambling giant’s diverse charitable, community, and sports-related initiatives. Based in Malta, the organization aims to scale the company's social impact through a unified governance framework across its global markets.

The foundation acts as a central hub for coordinating philanthropic activities that were previously handled as disparate local projects. By integrating employee-led fundraising with the company’s extensive network of sports partnerships, the initiative seeks to increase long-term efficacy in the regions where Betsson operates. According to CEO Jesper Svensson, the move formalizes a long-standing commitment to community engagement that is already embedded in the firm's corporate DNA.

Governance of the new entity rests on a Board of Administrators and a Supervisory Council, ensuring accountability for its philanthropic objectives. The foundation will build on existing programs, such as the five-year 'Boosting Up' initiative in Lima, Peru, which provides 22 students with nutritional support, English-language education, and football training. ESG Director Jonna Danlund noted that the structure is intended to foster deeper, more sustainable partnerships, leveraging the reach of professional sports to drive meaningful local change.
