The deal encompasses 52 retail sites currently operated by Couche-Tard, including 50 locations under the existing Québec Alliance and two Ontario sites in Pembroke and Cornwall. Beyond these retail outlets, the agreement secures fuel supply rights for 71 additional sites already owned and operated by the company in Québec. The acquisition also brings 18 cardlock sites into the Couche-Tard network, 16 of which are co-located with the retail properties being purchased.

Couche-Tard Expands Retail Footprint Through Irving Oil Asset Buyout
Laval-based Alimentation Couche-Tard has reached a definitive agreement to acquire a portfolio of retail assets from Irving Oil across Québec and Ontario. The transaction consolidates control over dozens of locations already under the company’s operational management, marking a strategic shift to solidify its convenience and fuel presence in key Canadian markets.

Stéphane Trudel, Senior Vice President of Operations at Couche-Tard, noted that the move leverages the company's deep familiarity with these specific markets and customer bases. While existing Irving Oil fleet customers will retain access to these locations through a long-term supply agreement, the full transfer remains subject to regulatory scrutiny, including reviews under the Competition Act and other customary closing conditions.
