Matthews International Appoints J. Michael Nauman as Board Chair

J. Michael Nauman brings extensive executive experience to the position, having served as the chief executive of Brady Corp. from 2014 until his retirement in April 2022. His career prior to Brady includes roles at Molex, Ohio Associate Enterprises, and Arthur Andersen, according to the company's announcement.

The transition marks the end of Alvaro Garcia-Tunon’s tenure at the head of the board. Alvaro Garcia-Tunon originally joined the Matthews board in 2009 and assumed the role of chairman in 2022.

Matthews International operates across several specialized sectors, including memorialization and industrial technology. The appointment of Nauman reflects a move toward leadership with deep experience in industrial manufacturing and corporate governance as the firm continues its long-term strategic development.
