While financial terms of the transaction remain undisclosed, the acquisition includes the 65-year-old brand and the lease for its original flagship at 8100 Melrose Avenue. Aritzia plans to restore the iconic West Coast location, integrating the heritage brand into its broader growth strategy.
A Strategic Push South
The move aligns with Aritzia’s aggressive expansion plan revealed in October, which targets an eventual footprint of approximately 200 locations across the U.S. Currently, the company operates around 130 stores in North America. Although slightly more than half of these locations are in Canada, the majority of the retailer's revenue is now generated south of the border.
