Tomoe Engineering Reports Profit Growth Despite Revenue Dip

Tomoe Engineering Co. posted a net profit of 2.79 billion yen for the half-year ending April 30, rising from 2.57 billion yen during the same period last year. The results, calculated under Japanese accounting standards, reflect a resilient bottom line even as the company navigated a slight contraction in overall revenue.

The Tokyo-listed firm reported revenue of 30.85 billion yen, down from 31.32 billion yen in the prior year. Despite this top-line decline, operating profit remained largely stable at 3.70 billion yen, compared to 3.71 billion yen previously. Pretax profit saw a marginal increase, climbing to 3.79 billion yen from 3.73 billion yen.

Shareholders saw an improvement in profitability, with earnings per share rising to 94.85 yen from 85.72 yen. These figures highlight an efficiency gain for the period, allowing the company to boost net returns despite lower sales volume.
