San Diego Inventor Debuts Simple Laces for One-Handed Use

"I wanted to create an alternative to standard shoelaces that would be simple to position as well as use," said a San Diego-based inventor, explaining the core motivation behind Simple Laces. The design aims to eliminate the strain of traditional tying by allowing users to secure or remove footwear with a single finger.

The invention targets a broad demographic, specifically children and individuals who struggle with the physical demands of standard shoelaces. By removing the need for knots and bows, the product addresses common accessibility issues while maintaining a practical, adaptable aesthetic. The developer notes that the system is intended to be producible in various design iterations to suit different footwear styles.

Currently, the concept is being managed by InventHelp, which is seeking licensing agreements or outright sales to footwear manufacturers and marketers. Interested parties can contact the firm's Pittsburgh headquarters at 412-288-1300, referencing file number 25-SBT-2263, to review the patent-pending design.
