Shanghai Electric Unveils Zero-Carbon Blueprint for Industrial Parks

The company’s presentation focused on the practical application of its "Engineering the Optimal Zero-Carbon Solution" theme, moving beyond theory to offer end-to-end management of energy efficiency and resource circulation. The newly released "White Paper on Technical Measures for Zero-Carbon Park Planning and Construction" serves as a roadmap for stakeholders, detailing systematic approaches to infrastructure development and smart operations. Central to this strategy is the integration of wind, solar, storage, hydrogen, and nuclear power, creating a cohesive energy ecosystem.

Two major projects underscore this operational model: the "Zero-Carbon Bay" in Shanghai’s Lin-gang Special Area and a smart energy park in Shantou, Guangdong. The Lin-gang site, recognized as one of China’s first 52 national zero-carbon parks, demonstrates how integrated systems support advanced manufacturing. Simultaneously, the Shantou project serves as a model for wind-solar-storage synergy, having earned Guangdong’s inaugural carbon neutrality certificate. These deployments highlight the company's shift toward on-demand customization for complex industrial environments.

Beyond project execution, Shanghai Electric continues to quantify its environmental impact. In 2025, the firm reported a reduction of approximately 389 million tons of CO₂ equivalent, marking the second year it has publicly tracked its social carbon reduction contributions. Looking forward, the company is aligning its ESG development strategy with global sustainability standards to scale its clean technology footprint.
