BODYBAR Pilates Expands Ohio Presence With Strongsville Studio

A former hospital administrator is bringing a reformer-based fitness franchise to Cuyahoga County this August. Christine Garcia, a local enthusiast who turned to Pilates for recovery, will open the new BODYBAR Pilates location at 17893 Southpark Center, marking the brand’s second expansion into the Ohio market.

The 2,971-square-foot facility is scheduled to begin operations on August 31, pending final construction milestones. The space will house 14 Reformers alongside a dedicated private training room, catering to various fitness levels through athletic-style classes. Ahead of the launch, the studio is offering founding memberships that include a 15% discount for life, priority booking status, and guest pass privileges.

Garcia transitioned to the fitness industry after a two-decade career in federal hospital administration. She views the studio as a way to foster a supportive community, drawing on her own experience with the restorative power of Pilates. To build local momentum, the team has organized preliminary community gatherings, including a session at Town Center Park on June 17 and a collaborative event with Brunswick’s Market 42 on June 20.

Kamille McCollum, co-founder of the national chain, noted that the Strongsville location aligns with the company’s broader growth strategy, which currently encompasses 81 studios across the country. Garcia plans to leverage this initial opening to scale the brand further throughout the greater Cleveland area in the future.
