Cincinnati Children's and Parkview Health launch pediatric partnership

Cincinnati Children's and Parkview Health have finalized a joint operating agreement to bolster pediatric services across northern Indiana. By integrating Cincinnati’s specialized expertise into Parkview’s regional network, the partnership aims to treat complex cases locally, reducing the need for families to travel long distances for critical medical care.

The new enterprise combines Parkview’s existing pediatric primary care, specialty services, and hospital operations with the clinical resources of the Ohio-based system. This collaboration builds on a 15-year relationship that began in 2011 with trauma care initiatives. Current efforts include expanding telehealth consultations for neurosurgery and rheumatology, with plans already underway to open a dedicated pediatric emergency department at Parkview Regional Medical Center by 2027.

Tony GiaQuinta, physician leader for pediatrics at Parkview, noted that the move will improve outcomes for patients across northern Indiana and northwest Ohio. While the initiative will create new clinical and support roles, the exact staffing figures remain under review. The partnership strictly covers the pediatric service line and does not alter the independent operations of either system outside of this joint venture.
