Fika Jobs secures $4 million to replace resumes with AI video interviews
Stockholm-based Fika Jobs has raised $4 million to challenge the traditional resume-based hiring model with a video-first platform. By utilizing AI agents to conduct interviews that capture personality and communication skills, the startup aims to help candidates present themselves as more than just a list of past job titles.

Candidates complete a 10-minute session that is automatically curated into short video clips, forming a searchable profile for recruiters. While the service is free for job seekers, Fika charges employers a 10% fee of the candidate's first-year salary upon a successful placement. The company faces a crowded field of AI-driven recruitment competitors like Mercor and Alex, but differentiates itself by prioritizing candidate-owned profiles over employer-centric screening tools. Despite the promise of revealing hidden talent, the reliance on video profiles inherently risks introducing visual and demographic biases that blind hiring practices have historically sought to eliminate. Early access opens this week in Sweden, with plans to scale internationally later this year.
