Academy Sports Extends Partnership with Boys & Girls Clubs
Nearly $250,000 in equipment and gift cards have been funneled into youth programming since 2025, a figure Academy Sports + Outdoors plans to build upon as it renews its national partnership with the Boys & Girls Clubs of America to expand sports access for children across the United States.

To mark the renewal, the retailer hosted a soccer-themed event in Houston featuring former professional player Wade Barrett. The program included interactive simulators and art installations designed to highlight the unifying role of sports. Meredith Klein, Vice President of Communications at Academy, noted that the extension reinforces the company's commitment to community engagement and long-term youth development. With over 300 stores operating across 21 states, the retailer intends to leverage its local footprint to continue integrating these outreach efforts into its broader corporate social responsibility strategy.
