The acquisition targets Aichi Prefecture, where Swift Japan operates licensed nurseries with near-total capacity utilization. By integrating its own non-cognitive skill development methodologies—which emphasize sports-based mental and physical training—into these facilities, Leifras aims to build a recurring revenue ecosystem that supports children from their earliest years through the elementary school transition.

Leifras Expands into Early Childhood Care with Swift Japan Acquisition
Tokyo-based Leifras Co., Ltd. has moved to capture the childcare market, signing an agreement to acquire 100% of Swift Japan for approximately JPY454.6 million. The deal, closing July 1, 2026, bridges the gap between infancy and the company’s existing network of youth sports schools.

This expansion directly addresses the so-called First-Grade Wall, a persistent shortage of after-school childcare for families in Japan. CEO Kiyotaka Ito stated that the move represents a commitment to co-designing communities where parents can raise families with greater security. To maintain operational stability, Leifras confirmed it will retain current facility directors and teaching staff, keeping existing management frameworks intact while providing additional support in teacher training and administrative systems.
