Superhuman acquires AI detection specialist GPTZero
With over 19 million registered users and profitability achieved within three years, AI detection startup GPTZero has been acquired by email platform Superhuman. The deal concludes a rapid ascent for the company, which began as a senior thesis project by Princeton graduate Edward Tian and raised $13.5 million in venture funding.

Superhuman, which rebranded following its acquisition by Grammarly, already maintained its own native AI detection tools. By absorbing GPTZero, the company aims to consolidate its defensive writing features. Executives stated that the integration of the two technologies provides a more robust solution for users looking to verify content authenticity and refine their prose.
