Blue Moon Metals Advances Nussir Project with New EPC Contract

Blue Moon Metals has secured a critical engineering and construction contract for its Nussir copper-silver-gold project in Norway, while simultaneously clearing the final regulatory hurdles for the mine's waste management and operating plans, setting the stage for full-scale production to begin in the fourth quarter of 2027.

Blue Moon Metals Advances Nussir Project with New EPC Contract

The company awarded the engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contract to MOMEK Services AS, a division of the Norwegian industrial group MOMEK. The agreement covers the detailed design, structural steel work, and installation of mechanical equipment for the site's processing plant. This move aligns with the feasibility study published in April 2026, marking a shift from planning to physical infrastructure development.

Regulatory progress has moved in tandem with these operational milestones. The Norwegian Environment Agency has officially approved the project’s Mine Waste Management Plan and updated the site's discharge permit, satisfying the final conditions required to commence operations. Furthermore, the Norwegian Directorate of Mines signed off on the updated mine operating plan on June 18, 2026. Underground development at the Nussir site is already underway, with excavation exceeding 2,000 meters, including the completion of essential conveyor and silo tunnels needed to support future ore processing.
