According to Paul Nadjarian, Chief Product Officer at CARFAX, the tool functions as a predictive guide to help owners anticipate repair needs and potential longevity before finalizing a purchase.

Dealers are incorporating these metrics into their sales process, noting that the added transparency fosters deeper discussions about vehicle condition and pricing. While the company initially marketed the feature as a unique offering, it has since issued a correction clarifying that it is not the sole provider of such VIN-specific reliability analysis. The updated reports are currently available on the company’s website and mobile application.
