The U.S. market debut of Implantica’s RefluxStop device drew significant attention at the 2026 American Foregut Society Annual Meeting in Washington D.C., where a symposium on the non-encircling GERD treatment reached over-capacity as surgeons and gastroenterologists gathered to evaluate the recently FDA-approved technology.
Dr. Lipham described the FDA approval as an inflection point for the treatment of GERD, a condition affecting approximately 78 million Americans. He noted that the device is backed by five years of clinical data and extensive experience from European centers.
