Dr. Tamika Lasege Named Chief Medical Officer at CareSource Georgia

A former UnitedHealthcare and Cigna executive, Dr. Tamika Lasege has been appointed as the new chief medical officer for CareSource Georgia. She steps into the role with a mandate to refine clinical strategy and expand community-based health initiatives across the state, focusing on maternal care, behavioral health, and chronic disease management.

Dr. Lasege brings a specialized clinical background to the nonprofit organization, having practiced as a board-certified neonatologist and pediatrician. Her prior leadership includes serving as the Georgia market medical executive at Cigna and as chief medical officer at UnitedHealthcare in Georgia. David Donohue, president of CareSource Georgia, noted that her operational experience will be central to the organization's efforts to enhance health outcomes for families throughout the region.

Beyond her executive experience, Dr. Lasege holds a Master of Health Care Administration from the University of Cincinnati and a medical degree from Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. She remains active in the local community, serving on several boards, including Families First. At CareSource, she will lead efforts to integrate a whole-person approach to care for the organization’s 430,000 members in Georgia, focusing on social drivers of health and improved access to services.
