Verastem Oncology Reports Early Gains for KRAS-Targeted Therapy

Patients battling KRAS G12D-mutated cancers—including pancreatic, colorectal, and lung variants—showed promising responses in early trials of Verastem Oncology’s experimental drug, VS-7375. The company reported both anti-tumor activity and a manageable safety profile, marking a potential shift in how these aggressive mutations are addressed clinically.

Verastem Oncology Reports Early Gains for KRAS-Targeted Therapy

Among the cohort of pancreatic cancer patients receiving higher doses of the treatment, 93% experienced a significant reduction in key tumor markers. Side effects remained largely limited to mild gastrointestinal issues like nausea and diarrhea, which typically subsided following the initial cycle of therapy. These preliminary results suggest the drug may offer a viable path for patients who have historically faced limited treatment options.

Verastem intends to expand the scope of its research by evaluating VS-7375 in combination with a separate experimental therapy currently in development by Erasca. The company plans to release a more comprehensive update on the VS-7375 program before the end of the year.
